It's not everyday that a musician picks up a new instrument, plays it and then decides to make his own; but that is just what Gus Hult did! He also creates this unique psaltery from recycled piano's. Read his story on our web page!
This beautiful triangular shaped instrument is 20" long and 8" wide at the base. Some parts of recycled pianos are used; solid spruce for the sound board and maple for the pin block. In addition, ebony and ivory from heirloom pianos are used to create this unique product. Each psaltery has 21/2 octaves of strings with the right side representing white piano keys and the left corresponding in groups of 2's and 3's to the black keys.
Bows are made of walnut with some ebony and ivory. Included in the sale are the bow, tuning lever, and rosin.
