Toivo Salo
Toivo has the patience of Job, which is evident in his photography. His wildlife pictures make you feel that you were right there when he took the shot. In addition to his wildlife photo's you wil find pictures of the area landscape and beautiful flowers. Toivo has been involved in photography for 20 years and does all his own processing. He is a retired mechanical engineer and was kind enough to handle the  photographs for the market's national magazine article. When you come to the gallery, you will surely notice his well framed pieces. Toivo resides in Chassel, Mi. with his wife Maureen.

Denise Villeneuve

"Discouraged by the limitations of a fixed focus lens, I bought my first SLR in 1985. It was a Nikon FG with a 35-70mm lens. I was in creative heaven! But, unfortunately life was too busy then to really learn much.  The last few years I've been taking photography classes and advancing my equipment. Today I use a Nikon F100 and Nikon D200 and D70 for taking my photographs. I have also acquired a variety of lenses as well.  Since I recently retired, I decided you are never too old to learn and enrolled in classes at Northern Michigan University, School of Art and Design with a photography major. To be honest, I am enjoying using many other mediums of artistic expression, including graphic design with the computer! I have so much to look forward to each semester!  I'm currently experimenting a little in infra red photography, digitally, and light painting. There is just so much to learn! Having a camera in hand leads to discovery - new ways to view the world, and rediscovery of things forgotten."

My interest in photography is the world I live in. Out in the country with horses. Nature has so many photographic opportunities! My horses also give me opportunities to capture their beauty and sometimes quirky behaviours. I have a passion for the country and with it shrinking, I want to capture what I can before much of it is gone. I have also been taking photographs of some equine events, and have been enjoying it as well.
